  • FCP Euro named Title Partner for second season of GT World Challenge America esports action
  • New mixed class format with the introduction of GT4 cars running with GT3
  • Public qualifiers to compete head-to-head in the GT4 category

Austin, TX - After a thrilling inaugural season of esports action earlier this year, SRO Motorsports America is excited to kick off Season 2 of GT World Challenge America Esports Competition, formerly GT Rivals, on our Official Game - Assetto Corsa Competizione. With real-world racing concluding at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, GT World Challenge America Esports Championship will offer an exciting calendar of off-season sim racing with Pros, Sim Racers, and Fans for its second edition this Fall.

To further enhance season two, FCP Euro has joined the esports championship as the Title partner - FCP Euro GT World Challenge America Esports Championship. Their motorsports heritage includes winning the 2019 TC America TCR Championship, but FCP Euro is a leader off the track as well. They are the #1 online source for European replacement parts with an extensive array of products with lifetime guarantees. In conjunction with their racing partners, LIQUI MOLY and Corteco, FCP Euro’s reach with the youth-oriented tuner market brings further visibility to sim racing with car enthusiasts.

“We saw a big spike in excitement around eSports Sim Racing this spring while there was a brief pause in in-person racing,” stated Michael Hurczyn, Brand & Partnerships Director at FCP Euro.  “It is great to have another way to get FCP Euro and our partners in-front of a new community of enthusiasts.” Nate Vincent, Director of Motorsport at FCP Euro added, “The level of simulation is so close to the real thing, it’s easy to understand why so many racers are incorporating it into their training regimen.  We are looking forward to getting back to competition in GT machinery in Season 2.”

Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC), developed by Kunos Simulazioni and published by 505 Games, lets players experience the real atmosphere of the GT World Challenge series. Designed for esports, Assetto Corsa Competizione is bringing sim racers into an immersive experience behind the wheels of today’s top GT3 and GT4 racers from a wide range of manufacturers.

For Season 2, FCP Euro GT World Challenge America Esports introduces a new mixed grid format with GT3 and GT4 sharing the track for the very first time. The speed and skill differential will pose a new challenge for drivers and bring action-packed 60-min sprint races. GT3 entries will be reserved for real-world pro drivers competing in various SRO championships along with sim racing professionals.

The new GT4 category will offer fans the opportunity to race their way into FCP Euro GT World Challenge Esports competition through an online hot lap qualifier and feature race for the Top 30 times. The qualifying race will serve as the final test to make the field for the season.

In addition, this season will feature two special invitational events. The first, a homage to SRO’s premier endurance event - the Total 24 Hours of Spa - with a six-hour, multi-driver endurance event at Spa-Francorchamps in Assetto Corsa Competizione. The second special event will be announced at a later date.
