The Friday action at Road America wrapped up with GT World Challenge America powered by AWS' first official practice session of the weekend, with the field of GT3 machine setting off around Road America as the sun began to lower in the Wisconsin sky. A red flag interrupted part of their running during the hour-long window, but the session was ultimately able to resume. GMG Racing's Tom Sargent and Kyle Washington stood at the top of the timesheets with the No. 32 Porsche 911 GT3-R (992) EVO, followed by the No. 9 TR3 Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO of Brayton Williams and Daniel Morad. Two more Porsche entries slotted into the top five, with the No. 88 Kellymoss entry of Loek Hartog and John Gilliland in third, and the No. 31 Wright Motorsports car of Dave Musial Jr. and Ryan Yardley in fourth. Finally, the No. 14 Riley Motorsports BMW M4 GT3 EVO of Slade Stewart and Andy Lee concluded the opening session in fifth place.
