After completing a test session first thing Friday morning, the official action got underway late afternoon for the GT World Challenge America powered by AWS grid at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. Practice 1 saw the Pro class No. 12 AF Corse USA Ferrari 296 GT3 of Matias Perez Companc and Frederik Schandorff light up the leaderboard, going quickest with a time of 1:20.037. They were followed by a trail of Pro-Am competitors, with Aaron Telitz and Todd Coleman going fastest in class and second overall in the No. 69 Archangel Motorsports McLaren 720S GT3 EVO. The No. 13 Kellymoss Porsche 911 GT3-R (992) EVO, shared by Todd Parriott and Riley Dickinson, slotted into third place, ahead of the No. 9 TR3 Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO of Brayton Williams and Daniel Morad. Another Kellymoss entry, the No. 88 Porsche 911 GT3-R (992) EVO of John Gilliland and Loek Hartog, rounded off the top five.
