Brazilian drivers Marcelo Hahn, Christian Hahn, and Allam Khodair will team up for the first time this weekend aboard the Ferrari 296 GT3, fielded by AF Corse and Blau Motorsport, for the Indianapolis 8 Hour — the season finale for the GT World Challenge America powered by AWS and the Intercontinental GT Challenge powered by Pirelli.
“I’m a huge fan of endurance racing and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to compete in such an iconic event, at a venue considered one of the greatest temples of world motorsport,” said Marcelo Hahn. “It’s definitely a personal milestone to be racing here.”
This marks the first time the Blau Motorsport trio shares the cockpit of the team’s striking blue Ferrari 296 GT3. Earlier this year, Marcelo and Khodair competed together in the opening rounds of the GTWC America season, securing a podium finish with third place at Sonoma. Marcelo also claimed another third place at Road America, this time partnered with his son Christian.
“It’s a pleasure to be back behind the wheel of the Ferrari with my dad, and to count on Allam’s experience as well,” said Christian Hahn, who is also a title contender in the Porsche Carrera Cup Brazil Sprint Championship. “In previous rounds, the Balance of Performance made things tough for us, but in an eight-hour race, strategy and consistency can play a much bigger role. That could make the race more unpredictable — and we’re confident we can finish the season with a Brazilian trio on the podium.”
The three have shared an endurance car before: back in 2015, Hahn, Hahn and Khodair won the 200 Miles of Homestead in Miami, driving a Lamborghini Gallardo RE-X. For Khodair — nicknamed The Flying Japanese — the chemistry and performance shown by the team give them every reason to believe in another strong result.
“Marcelo and Christian are in top form, and even though the competition this weekend is much tougher than what we faced ten years ago in Homestead, our line-up is stronger, more experienced, and more competitive,” said Allam Khodair. “Our pace during Wednesday’s unofficial test sessions showed we have what it takes to fight at the front.”
