The Fanatec GT World Challenge America Powered by AWS championship is making its highly anticipated return to the National Park of Speed as the field takes on Road America for the ninth and tenth rounds of the season coming up next week at Road America from August 16th to 18th.

The old school road course, measuring 4.048 miles long across 14 rapid corners, is widely regarded as a crown jewel in the racing world due to the extreme speeds and unforgiving elements that make this track such a challenge to tame. From the Carousel, to the Kink, to Canada Corner, the circuit is unrelenting, never giving drivers a moment to rest, which is one of the reasons it is so highly regarded.

Adding to the excitement, on Thursday, August 15th, a full-field car parade will roll through the village streets of Elkhart Lake, showcasing the incredible array of machinery up close. This event is a highlight for fans and locals alike, providing a unique opportunity to see the cars and drivers before an intense weekend of racing. On-site at Road America, spectators can enjoy an open paddock atmosphere with a plethora of activities, including autograph sessions, on-site trackside camping, and a fan grid walk on Sunday ahead of the feature event.

Pro Class

DXDT Racing continued their winning streak in the Pro class at VIR, adding two more victories to their tally. Alec Udell and Tommy Milner have now reached the top step of the podium four consecutive times, and it remains to be seen whether they can keep the momentum going at Road America, or if another team will manage to dethrone the No. 63 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R.

The DXDT duo have begun closing the gap in the championship standings, sitting just 16 points behind the current second-place pairing of Varun Choksey and Bill Auberlen in the No. 28 ST Racing BMW M4 GT3. Luca Mars and Zach Veach now follow an additional 7 points behind Udell and Milner in their No. 93 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 Evo22.

Meanwhile, Adam Adelson and Elliott Skeer returned to the podium once again in the No. 120 Wright Motorsports Porsche 992 GT3 R, further extending their championship lead in the process.

Road America will also see a new competitor entering the ring, as Random Vandals Racing introduces their No. 99 BMW M4 GT3 co-driven by SRO regular Kenton Koch and NTT INDYCAR SERIES star Conor Daly.

Pro-Am Class

There were many firsts that were achieved last time out at VIR. Notably, Regulator Racing’s Jeff Burton and Phillip Ellis scored their first win of the season in the No. 91 Mercedes-AMG GT3, which also stood out as the first time an overall victory was achieved by a Pro-Am entry this season.

Kyle Washington and Tom Sargent also earned their maiden win in the series on board their No. 32 GMG Racing Porsche 992 GT3 R after fending off a fierce attack from Neil Verhagen and Samantha Tan in the No. 38 ST Racing BMW M4 GT3.

DXDT Racing secured their first Pro-Am podium finish of the year as Bryan Sellers and Scott Smithson took home a third-place finish in their No. 08 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R.

Turner Motorsport moved up to second in the class championship standings, with Justin Rothberg and Robby Foley seeking a return to the podium in their No. 29 BMW M4 GT3 at the National Park of Speed.

The No. 85 RS1 Porsche 992 GT3 R is set to be on the grid once again, making their return to the Pro-Am class with Jake Pedersen coming back to the competition to pair alongside Trent Hindman.

Elias Sabo and Andy Lee are back in the fold, this time equipped with the new No. 8 Flying Lizard Motorsports BMW M4 GT3, as well as Ross Chouest and Aaron Povoledo co-driving the No. 50 Chouest Povoledo Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3. The grid is completed by the all-Canadian lineup of Jean-Frederic Laberge and Kyle Marcelli in the No. 92 Porsche 992 GT3 R, prepared by MMG and GT Racing.

The field will also be joined by an all-new Am class entry consisting of Jay Schreibman and Oswaldo Negri in the No. 163 AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3. Finally, Will Hardeman and Alan Metni have shifted to the Am class with the No. 19 Esses Racing with Mercedes-Benz of Austin Mercedes-AMG GT3.
