The centenary edition of the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa is building up to be one of the most exciting motorsport events of the year for a multitude of reasons. With 67 entries, including 240 drivers competing across five classes, the non-stop action will be brought to a whole new level.
Of the nine manufacturers represented on this global stage, the 24-hour race marks new beginnings for one in particular, as the freshly reintroduced Ford Mustang GT3 will make an appearance in the iconic and historic endurance race.
The #64 Proton Competition Ford Mustang GT3, co-driven by Frédéric Vervisch, Christopher Mies, and Dennis Olsen in the Pro class, will be the lone car in the field by the American brand, an important milestone as it also represents their debut in the event.
As the team prepares to take on the prestigious Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps, the ultimate goal of climbing to the top step of the podium will be no easy feat, with tough competition across the board from elite and esteemed manufacturers all vying for the win. However, Ford’s mere presence is an achievement in and of itself, and serves as a testament to their dedication and commitment to competing amongst the best in GT racing.
The Mustang GT3 has been in the running for two 24-hour races so far this season, previously competing in the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and as Ford sets off on yet another adventure around the clock once the flag waves at 4:30 PM CEST on Saturday, the world will be watching closely.

With a Free Practice session and Pre-Qualifying session taking place on Thursday, June 27th, Proton Competition will have two and a half hours of track time, along with the rest of the field, before the four Qualifying splits are held in the evening, with hopes of advancing to the Superpole Qualifying the following day.
