SEBRING, Florida (September 25, 2022) – Ashton Harrison and Mario Farnbacher put another victory on the books this weekend in their Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 Evo22 at Sebring International Raceway during Round 11 of the Fanatec GT World Challenge powered by AWS.

Harrison started Saturday’s race passing George Kurtz and Charlie Luck in just over 10 minutes of racing, putting her first in Pro-Am and sixth overall. Harrison defended her position through the rest of her stint. Farnbacher moved up one spot overall after taking the wheel and stayed there all the way to the checkered flag.

RealTime Racing faced a tough weekend in their Acura NSX GT3 Evo22. Just as the green flag dropped Saturday, contact between Erin Vogel and Chandler Hull ended the team’s race. The damage was severe enough to end their Saturday race early, and rendered their machine unable to race Sunday.

Farnbacher was set to start Sunday’s race third in Pro-Am and sixth on the overall grid, but the team experienced a brake line issue that required a long pit stop to repair. Starting the race several laps down on the leaders, they finished 9th in Pro/Am and 13th overall.

Quotes

Mario Farnbacher (#93 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 Evo22), during qualifying:

“I worked with [Harrison] at the HPD Academy, and I got to know her there. We had the chance to drive the [Indianapolis 8 Hour Intercontinental GT Challenge] last year. Over time, you get to know the person, and it is really important to have a close relationship with your teammate; you build trust. That, in my opinion, is a great combination to perform well.”

Ashton Harrison (#93 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 Evo22), following Saturday’s race, on overtaking Charlie Luck for the Pro-Am race lead: “I’ve been behind [Luck] before on a restart. Every time I’m behind a competitor, I always try to monitor what they’re likely to do. I took the knowledge I had and tried to put it to work. I had a really great restart coming out of 17, and I stuck behind him and took the position as soon as I saw the opportunity. He did fight me for it, and I would have done the same, so I don’t blame him for that. He made me work for it just as much as any other competitor would. Once I got it done, I just had to focus forward.”

Ashton Harrison (#93 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 Evo22), before Sunday’s race: “It’s important as an athlete and a driver to stay calm and make sure that your mental state is in the right spot because Sebring is very demanding. We have to keep in mind that we need the points to secure the championship in Indy, but we also want to bring the car back in one piece. Indy is a tight turnaround – we only have two weeks, and that’s what’s on our minds right now.”
