G3 Racing and Ian Lacy Racing Set to Return to Fanatec GT World Challenge America

The G3 Racing and Ian Lacy Racing crew is headed to Sonoma Raceway in Northern California to kick off the 2022 season in the Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS series. Their Aston Martin Vantage GT3 sports a new livery for its second season.

“It’s been a long hard winter getting the car rebuilt after its crash at Indy last year.” Stated Lacy. “It took a little longer than expected to get the car ready, and it only hit the track last Thursday. The guys did a fantastic job assembling the Aston and it ran flawlessly.”

The team also has some changes and new additions to the staff. Michael McCoy will assume engineering duties and TJ Hammond joins Dallin Felton on tire changes. “I’m very excited to work with McCoy on the car.” Said Drew Staveley. “We’ve spent some time talking about our experiences last year and I already feel like we are on the same page.”

“2021 was a learning year for us as we got used to competing with a GT3 car. We are looking forward to building on what we learned last season and I’m really looking forward to kicking off the new season with the crew.” Said Staveley.

The team will start the Sonoma weekend with a test day on Thursday, April 14th. The weekend schedule is as follows:

Friday, April 15        Practice sessions

Saturday, April 16    Qualifying sessions & Race 1

Sunday, April 17      Race 2

Ticket prices start at just $10 for Friday tickets, and a three-day pass is just $40. Kids 12 and under and parking are free of charge. Tickets can be purchased online, or at the gate.
