French squad AKKA ASP will further bolster Mercedes-AMG’s factory presence at the upcoming Indianapolis 8 Hour Presented by AWS after confirming a single Pro entry for Raffaele Marciello, Felipe Fraga and Timur Boguslavskiy.
Craft-Bamboo Racing had already announced plans to represent the manufacturer in Round 2 of this season’s Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered by Pirelli campaign, which takes place on October 15-17.
Now Maro Engel, Jules Gounon and Luca Stolz are joined on the entry by works colleagues Marciello and Fraga who have previously joined forces at Spa and Bathurst. Indeed, the duo and Boguslavskiy were in control of 2020’s TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa before a suspension issue ended their hopes in the night.
Marciello has also claimed pole position at the last two editions of the world’s biggest GT3 race, while Boguslavskiy was overall Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS champion last season.
Mercedes-AMG can nominate an additional two entries for IGTC’s US round, both of which are expected to come from its roster of Fanatec GT World Challenge Powered by AWS teams.
