Second and Third Place Finishes for Dinan and Foley at Watkins Glen

Newton, NH. - This past weekend, Michael Dinan and Robby Foley drove the No. 96 Turner Motorsport Liqui-Moly/H & R Springs BMW M6 GT3 to a runner-up and a third-place finish respectively in Rounds 9 and 10 of the 2021 SRO GT World Challenge Championship at Watkins Glen International. Reasonable finishes – yes, but the Turner team was looking for more at a circuit that has seen big success for a Turner Motorsport BMW M6 GT3 racing car.

Saturday’s 90-minute race was relatively uneventful with the duo finishing 9.4 seconds behind the winning Lamborghini for second place in class and overall. On Sunday, during the pit stop one of the tires was brought to the pit wall with the tire warming blanket still around it. This infraction required Dinan to serve a stop-and-go penalty and lose valuable track position. Putting his head down, the rising star steadily moved forward to ultimately finish fourth overall and third in class.

Will Turner, Team Principal said, “An issue during the pit stop in Sunday’s race with one tire blanket still on at the pit wall cost us one finishing position, but you win as a team or finish third as a team. The season is winding down with three races remaining. We’d still like to get to the top of the podium again – in fact, three more times.”

Three races remain in the 2021 GT World Challenge America season. Sebring International Raceway will host Rounds 11 and 12 on the first weekend in October. Two weeks later, the season will conclude with an eight-hour race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.
