CrowdStrike Sponsors Home Race Weekend as SRO America Returns to Sonoma Raceway

Sonoma, CA - Longtime SRO America sponsor, CrowdStrike, has been named the Sonoma Raceway event presenting sponsor for the second year in a row. The popular Bay Area circuit is just 80-miles north of CrowdStrike’s global headquarters in Sunnyvale, CA and serves as the home race for the leading cybersecurity technology giant. Race action gets underway this Thursday as official practice sessions will take place for various SRO America championships.

With this weekend’s event taking place behind closed doors, it challenged CrowdStrike and SRO America to look at new ways to bring the race track atmosphere and experience to guests at home. Utilizing a virtual approach, CrowdStrike’s typical at-track guests will have access to live and on-demand content to bring them into the conversation and have access to exclusive behind-the-scenes content with the drivers, team, and series.

“This is the most unique weekend for CrowdStrike that we have ever had,” said CrowdStrike CEO and co-founder George Kurtz, who also drives for CrowdStrike Racing in the premier GT World Challenge America series. “Shortly after the COVID-19 pandemic forced a break in our racing, we quickly began planning how best we can educate and entertain our clients and supporters in new and interactive ways. I think it’s safe to say that what we have planned sets a new standard in exclusive, interactive content anywhere in SRO’s global platform. We are excited and proud to be associated with this historic weekend at our home track in Sonoma.”

“The safety and health of our teams, drivers, partners and staff has always been our primary focus as we planned a return to racing,” said SRO Motorsports America President and CEO, Greg Gill. “We’re excited to collaborate with our friends at CrowdStrike to develop a virtual extension of the experiential activation elements that has proved to be a powerful tool for their business, especially here at their home track at Sonoma Raceway.”

CrowdStrike followers and fans will have access to an interactive hub on CrowdStrikeRacing.com that offers a plethora of content for visitors to be a part of the action with CrowdStrike Racing and the DXDT Racing team.

The virtual experience will feature an exclusive livestream of both 90-minute GT World Challenge America powered by AWS races over the course of the Sonoma race weekend. The CrowdStrike Racing production will offer special commentary with additional content including data analysis and an in-car track preview from the #04 CrowdStrike Mercedes-AMG GT3 driven by George Kurtz and Colin Braun.

Additional online content will include a tech talk with CJ Moses and Kevin Boehm, CrowdStrike drivers in the TC America series, CrowdStrike Racing racecar walk-arounds, driver and team Q&A sessions, plus a downloadable coloring book for the youngest racing fans.

This weekend’s Sonoma sports car extravaganza will feature GT World Challenge America powered by AWS, GT Sports Club America, Pirelli GT4 America, and TC America.
