GT World Challenge America Midseason Championship Standings

With four rounds complete and three remaining, the 2026 GT World Challenge America season has reached its halfway point and entered the summer break portion of the year. While several title fights remain finely balanced, every point will become increasingly valuable as the championship heads toward its climax, highlighted by the season-ending Indianapolis 8 Hour, which awards double points.

Pro Class

JMF Motorsports currently sits atop the Pro class standings with 78 points, thanks to an impressive campaign from Michai Stephens and Mikael Grenier aboard the No. 34 Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO.

The pairing has established itself as one of the benchmark entries in the championship, collecting victories at Sonoma and Circuit of The Americas while also finishing second at Road Atlanta. Their season could have looked even stronger had misfortune not struck at Sebring. After securing pole position and appearing poised to convert it into a third consecutive victory of the season, the team suffered a late-race engine failure that ended its day prematurely.

Second in the standings is AF Corse USA's Matias Perez Companc and Frederik Schandorff with 70 points. The Ferrari duo has steadily built momentum throughout the season, beginning with a runner-up finish at Sonoma and a third-place result at Sebring before finally breaking through at Road Atlanta. There, they secured both their first pole position and first victory of the year after prevailing in one of the most competitive battles of the season.

Just three points further back, Turner Motorsport remains firmly in championship contention. Justin Rothberg and Robby Foley entered 2026 looking to make the leap from Pro-Am champions to Pro class title contenders after capturing back-to-back Pro-Am crowns. While Sonoma proved difficult for the BMW squad, they rebounded with a second-place finish at COTA before earning a breakthrough victory at Sebring. Road Atlanta brought another challenge when a mechanical issue left the pair narrowly outside the podium positions, but their consistency keeps them within striking distance of the championship lead.

Pro-Am Class

If there is one word that defines the Pro-Am category in 2026, it is Porsche.

Leading the charge are GMG Racing's Kyle Washington and Tom Sargent, who have emerged as the class frontrunners in the No. 32 Porsche. Victories at Sonoma and Sebring, combined with a third-place finish at Road Atlanta, have helped the duo accumulate 77 points and establish a commanding position at the top of the standings.

Sargent's strong performances have also translated into a substantial lead in the SRO GT Academy standings, putting him in an increasingly favorable position to secure the coveted GT Academy seat for the 2027 CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa.

Wright Motorsports’ Dave Musial Jr. and Ryan Yardley occupy second place with 65 points, marking an impressive debut campaign in GT World Challenge America competition. Their season began with a runner-up finish at Sonoma before the pair delivered one of the standout performances of the year at COTA, where they claimed an outright overall victory.

RS1's Jan Heylen and JP Martinez currently sit third in the standings with 48 points. Consistency has been the cornerstone of their season, as the Porsche duo assembled an impressive streak of podium finishes through the opening rounds. Unfortunately, that run came to an abrupt end at Road Atlanta after contact from another competitor forced them into an early retirement.

Am Class

AF Corse USA continues to dominate the Am category and remains the sole full-time entrant in the class. Jay Schreibman began the season alongside longtime friend and co-driver Oswaldo Negri, but the team's campaign faced an unexpected challenge when Negri sustained an injury that sidelined him for Road Atlanta. Benny Simonsen stepped in as a temporary replacement, helping the team maintain its momentum as Schreibman continues his pursuit of the class championship.
