Porsche Poised for Further Expansion in SRO America Competition

Porsche Motorsport’s momentum in North America continues to rise, driven by years of competitive success, a strong customer racing foundation, and growing interest from teams preparing for an anticipated expansion across SRO America’s championships in 2026. With Porsche machinery already a fixture on grids across GT World Challenge America, GT America, and Pirelli GT4 America, the brand’s footprint is poised to grow even further as enthusiasm builds around its next-generation GT3 platform.

Across recent seasons, Porsche customer teams have produced standout performances in every category of SRO America competition. The Porsche 911 GT3 R has consistently delivered front-running pace, putting both race and championship-winning potential in the hands of established and emerging drivers alike. Furthermore, the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport has become one of the most successful GT4 platforms in the paddock across all classes of competition.

Powerhouse Porsche teams such as the likes of Wright Motorsports and RS1 quickly come to mind, with both entities having consistently been in championship form across both GT3 and GT4 competition over many seasons. The same holds true for NOLASPORT and ACI Motorsports, which have especially stood out as household names in the Pirelli GT4 America series.

With the 2026 debut of the newest-generation Porsche 911 GT3 R, interest from both existing and prospective Porsche customer teams has accelerated. With program announcements on the horizon, the expectation is clear: more Porsche cars, more Porsche teams, and a stronger-than-ever presence across SRO America next season. The manufacturer’s long-standing investment in customer racing, coupled with its competitive and rich history of success, has positioned Porsche as one of the most anticipated forces on the grid in the new year.

“Porsche Motorsport North America is proud of the continued success of our customer racing programs, with drivers and teams competing in SRO competition since the early World Challenge Championships,” said Volker Holzmeyer, Porsche Motorsport North America President and CEO. “The newest generation Porsche 911 GT3 R, debuting in 2026, is well-suited for both GT America and GT World Challenge America, while the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport has already achieved multiple wins and championships in GT4 America. We look forward to seeing our customers continue to compete at the highest levels in the seasons ahead.”

As the next season approaches, Porsche’s commitment to the SRO America ecosystem remains clear as they strive to continue supporting customer teams, delivering competitive machinery, and helping shape the next chapter of GT racing in North America. With proven success behind them and a wave of new cars ahead, Porsche Motorsport North America is entering 2026 with solid momentum and one of the strongest customer racing communities in the sport.
