Seven Consecutive Global Titles for Mercedes-AMG with Key Contributions from North American Customer Teams

Mercedes-AMG has once again proven the strength and depth of its worldwide racing efforts, clinching a remarkable seventh consecutive GT World Challenge powered by AWS global manufacturers’ championship. The Affalterbach brand’s 2025 triumph was its most tightly contested yet, prevailing by just 23 points over BMW at the end of a season defined by steep international competition, a new points structure, and a record 10 manufacturers vying for global success.

While strong results across Europe, Asia, and Australia ensured Mercedes-AMG remained firmly in the title hunt, the manufacturer’s robust presence in GT World Challenge America also played a pivotal role in securing the crown. Mercedes-AMG customer teams across both Pro and Pro-Am classes in the United States gathered essential points that helped keep the brand at the top during the most challenging phases of the global championship fight.

Mercedes-AMG’s global influence was further underscored by capturing the inaugural Customer Performance Award, a season-long classification recognizing results in all classes across each continental series. Unlike the overall global title, Mercedes-AMG went unrivaled and sealed this honor well before the season finale.

JMF Motorsports Leads the Charge on American Soil

At the forefront of Mercedes-AMG’s U.S. campaign, Michai Stephens and Mikael Grenier delivered a standout season in the No. 34 JMF Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3, finishing second in the Pro championship. Their four victories and seven podium finishes ensured that Mercedes-AMG remained a constant force in the upper tier of GT World Challenge America. Their results were not only a high point for the domestic program but also a significant boost to Mercedes-AMG’s international title ambitions.

Regulator Racing Adds Power in Pro-Am

In the hotly contested Pro-Am class, Jeff Burton and Philip Ellis in the No. 91 Regulator Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 delivered another essential source of points. The duo secured three wins and two additional podiums, further contributing to the overall strength of Mercedes-AMG’s global portfolio. Notably, factory driver Philip Ellis claimed more overall pole positions than any other driver in the championship, a testament to the outright pace of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 package throughout the season.

CRP Racing Impresses with New Lineup

The Pro-Am category also showcased emerging strength from within the Mercedes-AMG customer ecosystem. Isaac Sherman made an impressive GT3 debut alongside veteran Jason Daskalos in the No. 27 CRP Racing entry, earning two podium finishes as a new pairing. Their rapid ascent up the competitive order reaffirmed the accessibility and performance of the Mercedes-AMG platform for both established and rising talents.

CrowdStrike by Riley Delivers Quality in a Partial Campaign

Although George Kurtz and Colin Braun completed only a partial season in the No. 04 CrowdStrike by Riley Mercedes-AMG GT3, their impact remained unmistakable. Back-to-back P2 finishes at the season opener at Sonoma Raceway helped bolster the manufacturer’s points haul early in the year, accompanied by a solid showing at the Indy 8 Hour to conclude the American championship. Even limited programs across the Americas have historically played an outsized role in Mercedes-AMG’s global consistency, and 2025 proved no exception.

A Global Triumph Built on Continental Commitment

What ultimately distinguished Mercedes-AMG in 2025 was the widespread global talent pool and the consistency of its customer teams across every continent. Every single point mattered, making contributions from the U.S. equally vital in such a tightly contested global showdown.

“The Intercontinental Manufacturers’ Championship title of the GT World Challenge means an enormous amount to us, as it serves as a benchmark for the global triumph of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 and our Customer Racing Teams,” said Stefan Wendl, Head of Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing. “Since the introduction of this classification in 2019, we have managed to secure the title for the seventh consecutive time – an achievement made possible only through the team spirit, consistency and passion of everyone involved throughout an entire season. This result once again underscores the strength of our global Customer Racing Programme. It is a special moment every year to receive the trophy for this worldwide success at the SRO season-ending event."

"A decisive contribution to this year’s title came from the performances of our four teams in GT World Challenge America. Across 38 race entries, they achieved five overall victories and six further podium finishes. In total, they finished inside the top ten on 30 occasions. Naturally, it is disappointing that Mikaël Grenier and Michai Stephens narrowly missed out on the championship in the end. Our ambition for 2026 is to defend this global title once again with the support of our teams.”

As the brand adds yet another championship to its legacy and celebrates the first-ever Customer Performance Award, the 2025 season stands as a testament to the power of a unified global customer racing program. And in that story, the American teams played an indispensable role.
