Winning is Twice as Nice for Turner Motorsport

Turner Motorsport has officially cemented its status as the benchmark in the Pro-Am class of the GT World Challenge America powered by AWS championship, securing their second consecutive title with the No. 29 BMW M4 GT3 EVO. The trio of Justin Rothberg, Robby Foley, and Patrick Gallagher delivered a strong drive to third place in class at the season-ending Indianapolis 8 Hour, navigating the wet weather chaos and locking up the 2025 Pro-Am crown in convincing fashion.

For full-season drivers Rothberg and Foley, this year’s championship story was a complete role reversal from the dramatic underdog run that defined their 2024 campaign. Last time around, they arrived in Indianapolis sitting second in points, needing to overcome a rather significant points deficit in order to come out on top. Their rivals suffered a mechanical failure early in the running, dropping them way down the running order, essentially taking them out of contention in the process. Turner Motorsport seized that opportunity and claimed the title for themselves.

But in 2025, they arrived at Indianapolis Motor Speedway as the ones being chased.

Turner Motorsport entered the finale with the points advantage and the momentum, leading the Pro-Am standings over DXDT Racing, who proved they had more than enough winning caliber of their own. The challenge was clear: manage the pressure, execute cleanly despite the treacherous weather, and bring home the finish they needed in the longest race of the season. And that’s exactly what they did.

While the final podium at Indy sealed the trophy, the foundation for Turner’s championship defense was laid months earlier through a season marked by unshakeable consistency. Entering their second year together as teammates, Rothberg and Foley stood out as frontrunners from the moment their 2025 campaign began. They opened with a statement victory at Sonoma Raceway, immediately signaling that they meant business and fully intended to defend their title.

From there, the team continued to pile on the great results: a win at Sebring, a perfect sweep at VIRginia International Raceway, and another pivotal win at Barber Motorsports Park, extending their championship lead.

Across the season, podium finishes came frequently and reliably. Rothberg and Foley missed the podium on only three occasions before arriving at Indianapolis, a level of performance that kept the No. 29 BMW firmly anchored at the top of the standings round after round.

That consistency proved invaluable when the championship stakes literally doubled at the Indy 8 Hour, with twice the amount of points up for grabs. With Gallagher joining the lineup for the finale, just as he did the year prior, Turner Motorsport approached the race with the same smart, measured strategy. They remained focused on running their own race and executing on what they needed to do in order to bring home the championship. Their third-place result did exactly that.

As the checkered flag waved over Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Turner Motorsport’s achievement became official: back-to-back Pro-Am champions, earned through a dominant display of teamwork, level-headed composure, and a season-long refusal to crack under pressure.

“It’s an awesome feeling to get back-to-back championships,” said Robby Foley. “Every championship is different, but this year the key for us was execution. We got off to a very strong start, and while we faced a few ups and downs throughout the year, the backbone of our championship run was a reliable, consistent car. We had continuity with our great Turner Motorsport team, and it was awesome to see Justin progress in his sophomore season of GT3 racing. I’m looking forward to what’s to come.”

“It’s a surreal feeling to win the championship again,” echoed Justin Rothberg. “Both years, we fought tooth and nail and were up against strong competition. Last year was supposed to be a learning year, and we went into the Indy 8 Hour as the underdogs that needed a miracle to win. This year was different, as we started out the year fighting for wins, but going into the last race it was ours to lose. Luckily, like last year, the stars aligned and we came out victorious.”

“I’m super excited to see what we can do next season,” he continued. “I know Robby and the crew at Turner Motorsport will be ready to fight for another championship, so I’ll have to work hard to find pace so I can be ready to fight as well to make sure the LATICRETE BMW M4 finds its way to the podium.”

For Rothberg and Foley, the 2025 title is a validation of their growth from opportunistic challengers to confident, commanding champions. For Turner Motorsport, it underscores the team’s continued excellence in GT World Challenge America and its utter mastery of the BMW platform.
