The Fanatec GT World Challenge America Powered by AWS championship took on the infamous bumps at Sebring International Raceway for the third and fourth rounds of the 2024 season, with the scorching Florida heat perfectly emulating the fiery on-track battles that took place over the course of the weekend.
 
The 90-minute races showcase thrilling wheel-to-wheel fights across the board, with Pro and Pro-Am drivers braving the challenging nature of the circuit and putting it all on the line in search of valuable points in their respective championship campaigns.

Mercedes-AMG maintains the lead of the Global Manufacturers Championship after accumulating an additional 297 points to their total during Race 1 and Race 2 in Sebring. Porsche had a strong weekend, and moved up to second in the overall standings after collecting 416 points in the third and fourth rounds of the season. BMW now sits in third, adding 570 points to their tally.
 
As the series prepares to move ahead to one of the biggest events of the season in Austin, Texas, it’s time for a quick review from a weekend spent at one of the most historic race tracks in the world.

  • RS1 made their presence known in their 2024 debut at Sebring, as Spencer Pumpelly and Trent Hindman swept the weekend in the Pro Class, clinching both victories with the No. 85 RS1 Porsche 992 GT3 R.
  • In the Pro-Am Class, BMW teams were the ones to beat, with Samantha Tan and Neil Verhagen taking the Race 1 victory in the No. 38 ST Racing BMW M4 GT3, while the No. 29 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 of Justin Rothberg and Robby Foley clinched the win in Race 2, which marked Rothberg’s first win in the series.
  • The Turner Motorsport duo also finished second in Race 1, collecting a strong haul of points over the course of the weekend, while the ST Racing teammates secured a third place finish in Race 2.
  • Adam Adelson and Elliott Skeer, co-drivers of the No. 120 Wright Motorsports Porsche 992 GT3 R extended their championship lead in the Pro Class after securing two second-place finishes, bringing their points total to 86 after four rounds.
  • The CrowdStrike by Riley team continues to lead in the Pro-Am Class with 78 points, with George Kurtz and Colin Braun stepping on to the podium in Race 2 following a second-place result with their No. 04 Crowdstrike by Riley Mercedes-AMG GT3. 
  • The podiums in the Pro Class were completed by Varun Choksey and Bill Auberlen, who claimed two third-place finishes with their No. 28 ST Racing BMW M4 GT3, bringing them to a total 66 points on the leaderboard.
  • Regulator Racing also made their first podium appearance of the season in Race 1, with Jeff Burton and Philip Ellis opting for an alternate strategy which saw them claim a third place finish with the No. 91 Mercedes-AMG GT3.
  • Additionally, Philip Ellis set the fastest race lap of the weekend, with a time of 2:00.724 in Race 2, earning the CrowdStrike Fastest Lap Award. However, it was his very own Qualifying lap that was distinguished as quickest time overall across the entire weekend, with an impressive lap time of 1:59.217. 
  • An equal 44 laps were completed in both Race 1 and Race 2, with both races running under green flag conditions from start to finish. 
  • The 2024 season continues in just over a week at Circuit of The Americas, taking place from May 17th to 19th, for the fifth and sixth rounds.
