SRO America Continues Support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana through Generous Donation

SRO Motorsport America and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana (BBBSCI) continue their partnership into the second year, supporting the organization's mentorship programming through a donation of $25,000 dollars.

The SRO America $25,000 donation was announced by SRO Motorspors America President and CEO Greg Gill at the BBBSCI fundraiser, The Main Event. The fundraiser was held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in coordination with the Indianapolis 8-Hour presented by AWS race week- an endurance race marking the final calendar event of the season. During the event, guests were able to join in donating to BBBSCI, the total collection by night's end was $50,000 dollars.

The partnership donation will be dedicated to various programming for Littles, which is central to BBBSCI's efforts to engage young people in activities that support their development to ignite their unique potential. There are over 100 activities within this program, and BBBSCI looks forward to bringing more exposure to the field of racing, engineering, and STEM through this partnership to Littles in the BBBSCI program, ranging from ages eight to 18.

"The partnership between SRO Motorsports and BBBSCI is significant because SRO came to us, as they make a home here in Indianapolis,” Caitlin Bain, Chief Development Officer, said. “We believe in the Big Brothers Big Sisters mission, and we want to support the teams and drivers at SRO Motorsports who have been involved in activities, supportive of our staff, and have become a special part of the BBBSCI family. We are grateful for this partnership and commitment to breaking barriers to the world of racing for young people in central Indiana."

“We’re thrilled to continue our support of Big Brothers Big Sister of Central Indiana,” Gill said. “One of our focused efforts is to give back to the communities we make home throughout the race season. Especially so in Indianapolis, with the Indianapolis 8-Hour race ending our season and bringing together some of our international community, which is part of what makes SRO so special as a series. We are overwhelmed by the support of the community in matching our donation. It speaks highly to the trust and belief in the capability of Big Brothers Big Sisters and what they bring to their mentors and mentees.”

SRO Motorsport America and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana have shifted focus to 2024 programming and what the two organizations can bring to the youth of Indianapolis. SRO returns to Central Indiana Oct. 4-6, 2024.
