SONOMA, CALIF. – Pro/Am category driver Kyle Marcelli posted the fastest lap in Friday afternoon’s second practice for the Blancpain GT World Challenge America at Sonoma Raceway. Marcelli, driving the #80 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX entry, posted a 1:38.501 to top the overall charts for the session.
Second on the charts was Alegra Motorsports’ Marco Holzer in the #24 Porsche 911 GT3 R. Holzer, the fastest Pro category competitor in the session, posted a 1:39.012. Pro/Am competitor Gradient Racing’s Marc Miller piloting the #5 Acura NSX was third overall with a 1:39.248.
Casear Bacarella in the Squadra Corse Ferrari 488 GT3 posted the fastest Am category time (1:40.550), 11th overall on the charts.
Blancpain GT World Challenge competitors now get set to qualify for Rounds 7 and 8 of the 2019 championship (Saturday, June 8 at 10:50 am PDT). Round 7's 90-minute contest is scheduled to go green at 2:45 pm PDT on Saturday, while Round 8 is scheduled to start at 11:15 am PDT Sunday, June 9th.
