Porsche/Holzer Top Blancpain GT World Challenge America Practice 1 Charts at Sonoma Raceway

SONOMA, CALIF – Porsche driver Marco Holzer posted the fastest lap in Friday’s Blancpain GT World Challenge America Practice 1 at Sonoma Raceway. The 60-minute session was held under sunny, 67-degree Fahrenheit conditions.

Holzer in the #24 Alegra Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R topped the overall and Pro division charts with a 1:38.790. Daniel Morad in second Alegra Motorsports machine (#22) posted the second fastest time with a 1:38.923. California native and former GT driver’s champion Patrick Long in the #58 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R posted the third fastest time with a 1:39.071.

In the Pro/Am division, the fastest time was set by Gregory Liefooghe piloting the Sonoma-based Stephen Cameron Racing #87 BMW F13 M6 GT3 (1:39.627), while Dane Cameron in the #43 RealTime Racing Acura NSX posted the second-fastest time (1:39.663). Kyle Marcelli driving the #80 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX entry posted a third-best time of 1:39.978.

In the Am category, Martin Fuentes in the #7 Squadra Corse Ferrari 488 GT3 posted a 1:40.853, 15th overall on the charts.

On-track action continues Friday at 4:25 pm PDT for the second Blancpain GT World Challenge practice of the weekend. Round 7's 90-minute contest is scheduled to go green at 2:45 pm PDT on Saturday, June 8, while Round 8 is scheduled to start at 11:15 am PDT Sunday, June 9th.
