Weather Shortens Final Practice Session at VIR

Practice Two Results

Weather moved into the area during the final practice for the Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS. The 60-minute session at VIRginia International Raceway was underway when lightning and rain brought out the red flag. The long storm gave drivers and teams closer to 15 minutes on track. 

PRO Class
In the PRO Class, Daniel Morad and Kenton Koch were able to turn eight laps and earned the top spot in the PRO Class. The No. 9 TR3 Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 set a lap time of 1:46.460. Trenton Estep and Seth Lucas broke up the domination of Mercedes-AMG by placing the No. 53 MDK Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R second with a 1:46.768 lap time. The No. 94 BimmerWorld BMW M4 GT3 of Bill Auberlen and Chandler Hull set a lap time of 1:47.149 in four laps to make them third quickest in Practice Two. 

PRO-AM Class
It was Ryan Dalziel and Justin Wetherill in the No. 33 Triarsi Competizione Ferrari 296 GT3 the locked in the top spot in the PRO-AM Class and overall, on the time sheets. Prior to the rain, Dalziel turned a 1:44.729 lap time. Colin Braun and George Kurtz in the No. 04 CrowdStrike by Riley Mercedes-AMG GT3 were second fastest with a best lap of 1:46.085 lap. Adam Adelson and Elliot Skeer showed momentum matched their speed as they rounded out the top three fastest overall. The No. 120 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R held steady with 1:46.327 best lap.

Practice Two brings the day to a close at VIRginia International Raceway. Saturday, June 17 kicks off with qualifying at 9 a.m. ET. Fans can meet the drivers at the autograph session taking place on-site at 1 p.m. Race One brings the day to a close; the green flag flies at 3:10 p.m.
