Popcorn! Meet Bryan Sluder.

Bryan Sluder is a data scrutineer for SRO Motorsports America, working with all five series, including- Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS, GT America powered by AWS, Pirelli GT4 America, TC America powered by Skip Barber Racing Schools and the all-new Toyota GR Cup North America.

Sluder joined the SRO America team in 2019 as an IT aid for all technical needs of teams before becoming a part of the Data Department in 2020. However, Sluder still keeps connected to his background as the IT Manager for the Technical Department. On any race weekend, he can comb through data for the series or work on tool repairs, wiring, and many other needs.

As part of the SRO America data team, Sluder gets a unique job perspective.

“My favorite part is seeing and analyzing all the car data,” Sluder said. “It's not a common sight being a data person that you get to see every single car in a race. There is a lot to see and a lot to learn. The biggest challenge is the amount of data you must go through on the race weekends. We download each car for every session.”

He has a full workload at the track with the hundreds of teams and cars entered to run an SRO America series over 2023, but Sluder doesn’t stop when he returns home. Back in Georgia, he has another full-time job as a mechanic and technician at various local shops.

“Primarily away from the track, I’m doing electrical work, installations, general maintenance and work on race cars,” Suder said. “Sometimes I am the mechanic, the data person or car chief at the track outside of SRO and other data-specific positions.”

The balancing act of multiple jobs is well understood as something that can be incredibly overwhelming. Sluder and his fiancé are working on creating a home out of a newly purchased home alongside managing his schedule. Challenges aside, he still holds on to highlights from the track amidst the pressure.

“The most rewarding part is having success with the team or organization you're working for,” Sluder said. “That is the best part, the feeling of accomplishment from doing well at a race or solving a problem that produces some positive results. For 2023, I'm looking forward to the GR Cup and what's new to come within SRO. I'm happy to be back with the series and excited for another season of racing.”

Sluder and SRO Motorsports America head to Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, California, for the first SRO America weekend of 2023. Rounds one and two of Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS, Pirelli GT4 America, TC America powered by Skip Barber Racing Schools and the all-new Toyota GR Cup North America all occur. GT America powered by AWS gets back underway with Round 3 and Round 4 of racing. Tickets are still available. Fans can watch
