Sebring, Florida - Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS took to Sebring International Raceway’s historic, high-speed tarmac for Practice Session 1 in preparation for its penultimate race weekend. The field set some blistering lap times—many on the verge of sub-two-minutes—under sunny skies and warm ambient temperatures. Talk about a nice preview of what’s to come in Race 1 on Saturday.
In Pro, multiple 2022 race winner Michele Beretta clocked in the fastest lap of the hour-long combined session with a 2:00.259, behind the wheel of the #1 K-PAX Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 that he shares with Andrea Caldarelli. The next-fastest Pro car was their sister #3 K-PAX Lamborghini driven by Jordan Pepper with a 2:00.410, followed by Robby Foley in the #96 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 with a 2:00.811.
In Pro-Am, World Challenge veteran Bill Auberlen claimed the quickest overall lap of 1:59.845 in his #94 BimmerWorld BMW M4 GT3, followed by Colin Braun with a 2:065 behind the wheel of the #04 CrowdStrike with Riley Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3, followed by Jan Heylen turning a 2:00.110 behind the wheel of his #45 Wright Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3-R (991.ii).
Finally, Onofrio Triarsi drove the sole Am Ferrari entry to a 2:01.435 behind the wheel of the #23 Triarsi Competizione Ferrari 488 GT3.
Practice 2 starts at 3:15 PM (Eastern) this afternoon. Qualifying begins tomorrow at 9:00 AM, followed by Race 1 at 2:15 PM.
