Watkins Glen, New York - Storm clouds cleared Friday afternoon, allowing practice sessions to carry on without any further threat of rain or thunder. GT World Challenge America powered by AWS took to Watkins Glen International’s high speed corners for one last practice session before giving it all they’ve got on Saturday morning for qualifying.

Throughout the session, multiple drivers received track limit warnings from race control, which is a testament to how fast drivers were hustling through the high-speed track’s iconic corners. Some repeat offenders had drive-through penalties to serve, others had laps invalidated.

In Pro, the fastest lap of 1:44.369 went to Steven Aghakhani behind the wheel of the #6 US Racetronics Mercedes-AMG GT3, just a hair slower than what his teammate Loris Spinelli laid down in morning practice. Jordan Pepper claimed a 1:44.702 in the #3 K-PAX Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3, followed by Phillip Ellis by half a second in the #33 Windward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3.

In Pro-Am, Jan Heylen set a 1:44.372 behind the wheel of the #45 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3-R (991.ii), followed by Colin Braun with a 1:44.382, half a second faster than his top lap of the morning. Ryan Dalziel wasn’t too far behind in his #13 Triarsi Competizione Ferrari 488 GT3, laying down a 1:44.686.

Finally, Onofrio Triarsi drove the sole Am entry of the weekend to a 1:45.989 behind the wheel of the #23 Triarsi Competizione Ferrari 488 GT3, besting his teammate’s fast lap from the morning session.

Qualifying begins tomorrow at 9:00 AM EST, followed by Race 1 at 2:15 PM EST.
