Toronto, ON – Remo Ferri, Team Principal of R. Ferri Motorsport RACING WITH FERRARI officially announced today that his team will return to compete and defend its SprintX and GT Overall Championships in the 2019 Blancpain World Challenge Series with his Ferrari 488 GT3. The team also successfully contributed to Ferrari winning the SprintX Manufacturers Championship. Returning are Ferrari veteran drivers Toni Vilander and Miguel Molina as they too look to defend their championship as they pilot the team’s entry in the series beginning in Austin at the Circuit of the Americas on March 1 – 3, 2019.
2019 will mark the fifth full season in the World Challenge for R. Ferri Motorsport RACING WITH FERRARI with its first overall championship in 2018. “We are excited to be back again this year in the World Challenge with a proven driver lineup that has had a lot of success with our team. The Blancpain GT World Challenge America series is the premier destination for GT3 racing in North America. New this year is an exciting, two-driver, 90-minute SprintX style format. The enhanced GT World Challenge series will compete on top-tier circuits and feature two races per weekend. The season will consist of six rounds with the first race next weekend in Austin. Included in the schedule is the home race for R. Ferri Motorsport at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, Ontario on May 17th to 19th, 2019.
