Stage Set for 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps Esports Action in Assetto Corsa Competizione
  • 30 Teams and 75 Drivers will challenge the world-famous circuit for a six hour sim racing enduro
  • A mix of GT3 and GT4 competitors across 10 manufacturers

Home to the world’s greatest GT race, Spa-Francorchamps brings on a new challenge for FCP Euro GT World Challenge America Esports racers. A six-hour endurance race featuring driver changes, pit stops, and mixed class action will be on display as a special invitational esports event this season. 

The 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps on Assetto Corsa Competizione will kick off this Sunday in virtual Belgium. Twenty-one GT3 and nine GT4 machines from a mix of manufacturers including Audi, BMW, Lamborghini, Lexus, Mercedes-AMG, Nissan, and Porsche featuring ultra-quick sim racers and pro drivers from SRO America championships. 

The leading contender coming into the race weekend has to be the SideMax Motorworks team featuring the Nurburgring winner Michael Kundakcioglu. He’ll team with Sam Cairns and Round 1 pole sitter Philippe Simard for a strong lineup in the #96 Mercedes-AMG GT3. 

GT Rivals standout Bryan Heitkotter joins forces with 3x Rallycross Champion, 4x time X Games Gold Medalist, and 2x Formula Drift Champion Tanner Foust in the Forsberg Racing Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3. They’ll be joined by Gridlife touring car driver and avid sim racer D.J. Alessandrini. 

Brothers Scott and Sam Michaels will pilot the CrowdStrike Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3. The sim racing pros have raced together in numerous endurance sim racing events, including finishing 2nd in the Nürburgring Nordschleife pro event with Team Walkenhorst BMW earlier this year.

TC America competitors Vinnie Lima and Britt Casey Jr. enter the 6h driving the NGP Motorsport Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo, along with TCR drivers Michael Hurcyzn and Nate Vincent in the FCP Euro Mercedes-AMG GT3. 

Champion Motorsports will run two Pro Team entries with the Blue team of Chris Bruno and Mattew Marlow driving the #909 Mercedes-AMG GT3 while the Green team of Matthew Santiago, Daniel Ferrier and Drake Burgoon will contest the 6h in the sister Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo. 

Also driving for Champion Motorsports, Josh Staffin, Zach Kunin, and Paul Seymour will drive the #23 Lexus RC-F GT3 with Branden Ouellet and Brandon Chan sharing a Mercedes-AMG GT3, along with Steve Davis and Tim Brook. 

Driving the only Jaguar in the field, Team BOPd’s driver's Troy Barman, Jonathan Lee, and Hamza Gulzar are in for a challenge with the older generation GT3 machine. 

McLaren will have two teams on the grid with the Archer Brothers Esports team of Caleb John Lavender and Dylan Archer racing the #22 McLaren 720S GT3. Risky Business Motorsports will field an all-Canadian line-up for the #914 McLaren with Simon Fisher, Doug Bourne, and Floyd Ducharme.  

Fast Track Racing w/ Classic BMW will field two BMW entries. The #26 BMW M6 GT3 will be driven by Ben Green, Dirk Groeneveld, and Kurt Wittmer. With the #28 BMW sister car being driven by Toby Grahovec, Max Peter and Robbie Montinola. ST Racing’s Jon Miller and Bill Anderson take the grid in the #34 BMW M6 GT3 as well. 

Porsche enters with two teams with Signed Management fielding the #78 Porsche 911 GT3 R for Phil Elmore, Colin Elmore and David Anderson. TCW Motorsports will also race the Porsche with Chris Barnes, Carlos De La Torre and Matteo Scaptura in the #60 racecar. 

Canadian Nelson Mason will team up with Simony Taylor in the maceRace Esports w/ Racers360 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo. With Racing Club International’s Harry Conway, Cody Blanton, and Jake Boswell driving the #123 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo. 

Lastly in GT3, Late Apex Racing driver’s Scott Newell, David Merriman, and Nicole Umbarger join the 6h grid driving the #18 Lexus RC-F GT3. 

Solid GT4 Grid Spices Up Six Hour 

With this season introducing mixed class racing, that theme continues for the 6 Hour Invitational. Nine competitors are set to take the green in the GT4 class. 

A trio of BMW racers will pilot the BMW M4 GT4. Girtas Aklas and Letas Autosport with Tadas Litukus, Keith Briscoe, and Takis Weekes will drive the #13 BMW, along with Champion Racing’s JT Tami and Shawn Campbell in the #97. Latin America racers Juan Reinoso, Bernadro Gil, and Marcelo Letelier will drive the #90 Arcade Team Racing BMW as well. 

Chevy will make its series debut behind the hands of Ryan Flanagan and Chad Lamb. They’ll pilot the #13 Chevy Camaro GT4 machine. 

TMU Racing will field the only McLaren 570S GT4 with Cody Smith and Jose Florez sharing driving duties. 

Mercedes-AMG is represented with two entries. Zealous will feature Sean Bowers, Steven Rivard, and Mark Dizon in the #777 Mercedes-AMG GT4. Griphax Engineering teammates Ivan Shermetinskii and William Hendrickson will drive the #11 AMG GT4. 

Porsche will feature two teams driving the 718 Cayman GT4. MFR Team Edison features Maryn Edwards and Vojta Pavlicek behind the wheel of the #587. Matias Villasante and Ignacio Prieto will also field the Cayman to complete the grid.
