Braun Bests Field Again in Second GT World Challenge America Practice

Sonoma, CA - Colin Braun again paced the GT World Challenge America powered by AWS field in the series' second practice session at Sonoma Raceway Friday afternoon. 

Eight minutes into the 60-minute session held under sunny and hot weather conditions, GMG Racing's Jeroen Bleekemolen in the #14 Porsche 911 GT3 R (991) went to the top of the charts with a 1:40.417. A lap later, the Pro/Am division Dutch driver improved his time to a 1:39.279.

Pro/Am driver Braun, in the #04 DXDT Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 then topped the charts with a time of 1:38.785, a time that would hold as the fastest for the session. Bleekemolen's 1:39.279 was good for second fastest of the session. Squadra Corse's Rodrigo Baptista in the #1 Ferrari 488 GT3 had the third fastest time of 1:39.471.

With under eight minutes left in the session, Am driver Max Root posted the fourth fastest overall time and tops in the Am division in the Wright Motorsports #20 Porsche 911 GT3 R (991.II) (1:40.350). 

Silver division competitor Shelby Blackstock, piloting the #93 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 posted the seventh fastest time overall with a 1:41.521.

GT World Challenge America competitors now get set for qualifying Saturday morning scheduled to go green at 8:30 am Pacific.
