Free Practice Results

After some test sessions on track leading up to it, the GT World Challenge America powered by AWS and Intercontinental GT Challenge field headed out around Indianapolis Motor Speedway for their first official practice of the weekend. The late afternoon sun gave way to the night, giving the field their first taste of running after-dark. A red flag interrupted the 90 minute window as Alex Palou's No. 80 Lone Star Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO experienced a mechanical failure, but the session was able to resume and cars returned to the road course under the lights. At the conclusion of the session, it was the No. 64 Chicago Performance and Tuning Co. Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 of Nicolai Elghanayan, Mads Siljehaug, and Loris Spinelli that emerged on top with a time of 1:23.686. The No. 88 Kellymoss Porsche 911 GT3-R (992) EVO of John Gilliland, Aaron Jeansonne, and Loek Hartog finished just a mere 0.024 seconds behind, with the No. 6 Dollahite Racing Ford Mustang GT3 EVO of Scott Dollahite, Alex Sedgwick, Christopher Mies only 0.040 behind in third. The Ericsson brothers and teammate Derek DeBoer wrapped up Free Practice in fourth place with the No. 99 Random Vandals Racing BMW M4 GT3 EVO, just ahead of the No. 32 GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT3-R (992) EVO of Kyle Washington, Riccardo Pera, and Ayhancan Guven.
