Wright Motorsports Earns Top Four Finish in GT World Challenge America at Sebring International Raceway

Wright Motorsports continued its 2026 campaign in GT World Challenge America competition this past weekend at Sebring International Raceway, with the Ohio-based team delivering a top four finish in the hard-fought three-hour race.

In the No. 31 Porsche 911 GT3 R, Dave Musial Jr. and Porsche Motorsport North America Selected Driver Ryan Yardley secured a fourth-place Pro-Am finish following a strong strategic effort and late-race intensity. This marks their third consecutive top four finish, having previously secured P2 at Sonoma and a victory at Circuit of The Americas in their debut season of GT World Challenge America competition.

After qualifying fifth in class and tenth overall, Musial Jr. handled the opening half of the race. The team elected to make an early pit stop strategy call, topping off on fuel in an effort to maximize flexibility and extend the second stint. Yardley climbed aboard just before the halfway mark and quickly settled into fifth position before advancing to fourth shortly thereafter.

The closing stages saw Yardley engaged in a riveting battle with a fellow Pro-Am Porsche, with the two drivers exchanging positions multiple times in a fierce fight for position. A full course yellow emerged with approximately 45 minutes remaining, resetting the field ahead of a final sprint to the finish. The No. 31 machine ultimately crossed the line fifth in class before a post-race penalty assessed to a competitor elevated Musial Jr. and Yardley to fourth in the final results.

“Fourth place is a strong result, but we’re definitely leaving Sebring wanting more,” said Dave Musial Jr. “Ryan and the team did an awesome job. Let’s keep pushing!”

“Another solid weekend alongside Dave Musial Jr. and Wright Motorsports,” added Ryan Yardley. “A P4 result at the end shows the consistency we have as a team. I’m excited to keep learning this GT3 platform, and looking forward to heading to Road Atlanta in a month’s time.”

On the other side of the garage, Therese Lahlouh and co-driver Thomas Merrill started 14th overall and ninth in class in the No. 242 Porsche. The duo faced adversity with an early setback in the opening stint, but focused on making a strong recovery drive.

The pairing pushed forward steadily throughout the race and ultimately brought it home 12th overall and eighth in class, gaining valuable championship experience during their first season in the GT3 championship.

“Sebring was a wild ride as always,” exclaimed Therese Lahlouh. “Not quite the result we were hoping for, but a spectacular effort from the whole team at Wright Motorsports and my co-driver Thomas Merrill. We brought the fight, dug deep in the heat, and now come out stronger for it. As much as I wish it was another podium, I’m proud I pushed as hard as I could and made mistakes I can learn from. I can’t thank my team enough for all the hard work in brutal conditions. Let’s go get that hardware in Atlanta!”

“It was a bit of a character building weekend,” echoed Thomas Merrill. “Sebring is really something else. Big thank you to Therese and the entire Wright Motorsports team for digging deep and powering through such a tough race in the heat. They really soldiered on, and this only makes us more eager for the next one at Road Atlanta.”

In GT America powered by AWS, Dave Musial and Jon Manship competed in doubleheader sprint races in the SRO3 class aboard the No. 72 and No. 216 Porsche 911 GT3 R. The 40-minute endeavors took place in the sweltering Florida heat, and while they did not yield desired results for the ambitious drivers, it provided great experience through difficult Sebring conditions.

Wright Motorsports now turns its focus toward the next round of the 2026 SRO America season, taking place from June 12th to 14th at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
