From October 16th to 19th, the season finale of the Intercontinental GT Challenge (IGTC), the GT World Challenge America, GT America and GT4 America will take place at the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Mercedes-AMG will be represented with a strong lineup at the main race, the Indianapolis 8 Hour: A total of seven teams will each field a Mercedes-AMG GT3.
The biggest title chances for Mercedes-AMG this weekend are in the GT World Challenge America. The Customer Racing Team JMF Motorsports with Mikaël Grenier (CAN) and Michai Stephens (USA) is currently in second place in the Pro driver and team standings – 18 points behind the leaders. The Customer Racing Team Regulator Racing with Jeff Burton (USA) and Philip Ellis (SUI) is currently in third place in the Pro-Am driver and team standings. In the manufacturers' standings, Mercedes-AMG is in second position before the final, with a gap of just 6.5 points to the top. The teams collected important points in particular with victories at the season opener at the Sonoma Raceway, at the second race at the Circuit of the Americas, at both races at Road America and at the most recent race at Barber Motorsports Park. A maximum of 50 points are still up for grabs over the distance of eight hours in Indianapolis. The race starts on Saturday at 18:20 CEST (12:20 local time). The finish is on Sunday morning at 2:20 CEST (20:20 local time on Saturday evening).
