After a record-breaking 2024 GT World Challenge America season that saw the team win 10 times across all classes, DXDT Racing is happy to announce their return to the series in 2025. After debuting in the No. 64 at last year’s Indianapolis 8 Hour season finale, Blake McDonald will be piloting the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R for the season, joined in the cockpit by Matt Bell. The duo will compete in the Pro-Am class.
McDonald joins the team after impressing at the Indianapolis 8 Hour in October. Despite never having driven the car prior to the first practice session, he got up to speed quickly and drove a confident double stint to start the race. That experience was the culmination of a breakout year for McDonald, who captured the Porsche Sprint Challenge USA West title convincingly, winning by over 100 points. He also stood on the Pro-AM podium in Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America five times in 2024, highlighted by a pair of runner-up finishes at Sebring.
Bell, who has worked with McDonald as a driver coach in recent years, will be joining him in the cockpit for the full season this year. Bell, who races a Corvette in IMSA GTD with AWA, will make his debut in GTWCA. A former Bentley GT3 factory driver, Bell has garnered success in prototypes as well, winning the Asian Le Mans Series LMP2 title in 2022 and the IMSA Prototype Challenge Championship in 2020. His experience in a variety of global championships and familiarity with the car will certainly help set the team up for success in 2025.
“As our team expands into IMSA this year, I’m really happy that we’ll continue racing in GT World Challenge America,” said Team Owner David Askew. “We had tremendous success in the series last year, and I’m excited to see what we can achieve with Blake and Matt this year.
“Blake impressed us at Indy last season, and Matt has a proven track record, not only around the world, but in the Corvette. It’s a great first piece of the puzzle for us as we continue to put together our 2025 SRO program.”
The duo will take the wheel at the season-opener at Sonoma, which begins on March 28th.

Blake McDonald
“I’m thrilled to be joining DXDT for GT World Challenge America this year. I grew up loving Corvettes, so to get the chance to race one for the season alongside a friend in Matt Bell is very exciting. I knew we could win some championships together after running with the team for the 2024 Indy 8 Hour, and that’s exactly what we plan on doing.”
Matt Bell
“I’m really excited to be joining DXDT for the GTWC America season with Blake. The team had an incredible run in the championship last year so the expectations will be high, but I’m confident we can make 2025 just as successful with the program we have built. Blake sampled the team and car at the Indy 8 Hour last year which went really well, and I’m excited to be pairing up with him! I’ve loved driving the new Corvette Z06 GT3.R in 2024, so I’m glad to be on double-duty in such an awesome car in 2025.”
