It was a tight battle all season long between drivers and teams as they sought the top spot in the GT World Challenge America rankings, and the same proved to be true for the manufacturer’s title as well. Amassing a total of 271 points, Porsche emerged as the leading marque against a formidable American field, demonstrating their prowess in a season filled with fierce competition. Furthermore, they continue to lead in the global manufacturer standings as well as the end of the year draws near
The Porsche teams set the tone early with a clean sweep at Sonoma Raceway in rounds 1 and 2, where Wright Motorsports claimed two back-to-back victories to establish an early lead. In fact, Wright Motorsports' solid and strong year included a landmark victory in the grand finale event at the Indy 8 Hour, capping off the 2024 season with another victory for Porsche in round 13.
This season also saw consecutive wins for the RS1 Porsche 992 GT3 R entry at Sebring International Raceway, dominating rounds 3 and 4 and further solidifying Porsche’s position in the standings.
Demonstrating versatility across a range of tracks and weather conditions, Porsche consistently placed on the podium at challenging doubleheader events across Circuit of The Americas, VIRginia International Raceway, and Road America. This steadfast presence near the top of the leaderboard throughout the season allowed the brand to maintain and build upon its lead.
Although Chevrolet proved to be a worthy adversary, with two Corvette Z06 GT3.R entries surging in the latter half of the season, the early advantage Porsche secured ultimately proved insurmountable. Porsche’s teams capitalized on their consistency and maximized their points haul in five out of the season's thirteen rounds, in addition to securing podium finishes in an additional six races, enabling them to secure the Manufacturer's Championship with a well-earned margin.
