K-PAX Racing Lamborghini To Start at the Front For Race 1 at Watkins Glen International

Watkins Glen, New York - The world’s fastest GT3 drivers took to the Glen’s fast tarmac Saturday morning to qualify for a doubleheader at this midway point in the 2022 Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS season.  The qualifying format for the Fanatec racers has driver 1 setting the grid for race 1 with driver 2 setting the grid for race 2.  

Race 1 Qualifying

Michelle Beretta claimed the quickest lap in the first qualifying session, setting a 1:44.950 for in the #1 K-PAX Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 that he shares with Andrea Caldarelli.

Joining him will be the #33 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 (Russell Ward/Philip Ellis), followed by for the #6 US Racetronics Mercedes-AMG GT3 (Stephen Aghakhani/Loris Spinelli) GT3and the #96 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 (Michael Dinan/Robb Foley), with the #3 K-PAX Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 (Misha Goikhberg/Jordan Pepper) right behind them.

After claiming pole for Race 1 of GT America powered by AWS earlier this morning, George Kurtz repeated his success by grabbing the top spot in Pro-Am for the #04 CrowdStrike with Riley Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3 that he shares with Colin Braun. The #94 BimmerWorld BMW M4 GT3 (Chandler Hull/Bill Auberlen) is right the Mercedes team, followed by the #08 DXDT Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 (Scott Smithson/Bryan Sellers) and #93 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 (Ashton Harrison/Mario Farnbacher). The #88 Zelus Motorsports Lamborghini Huracan GT3 (Jason Harward/Madison Snow) and #45 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GTe-R (991.iii) (Charlie Luck/Jan Heylen) sit right behind them.

This qualifying session was cut short due to the #91 Zelus Motorsports Lamborghini Huracan GT3 (Jeff Burton/Corey Lewis) impacting the wall in Turn 9, which unfortunately put an end to the duo’s day.

Race 2 Qualifying

In Pro, The #3 US Racetronics Mercedes-AMG GT3 (Loris Spinelli/Steven Aghakhani) set the quickest lap of 1:42.937, securing pole for the Sunday race. Right behind is the #3 K-PAX Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 (Jordan Pepper/Misha Goikhberg) followed by the #33 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 (Russell Ward/Phillip Ellis) and #1 K-PAX Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 (Michele Beretta/Andrea Caldarelli).

Pro-Am will see the #13 Triarsi Competizione Ferrari 488 GT3 (Justin Wetherill/Ryan Dalziel) at the front after laying down a 1:43.711, followed by the #04 CrowdStrike with Riley Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3 and #45 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3-R (991.ii) (Charlie Luck/Jan Heylen). Up next are the #08 DXDT Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 (Scott Smithson/Bryan Sellers) and #93 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 (Ashton Harrison/Mario Farnbacher).

The sole entry in Am, the #23 Triarsi Competizione Ferrari 488 GT3 (Onofrio Triarsi/Charlie Scardina) will compete in the field after laying down some impressive laps.

Race 1 will take place at 2:15 PM EST, Race 2 goes down at 1:15 PM on Sunday.
