SRO America Mourns the Loss of Marlena Solomon

It is with a heavy heart we share the news that Marlena Solomon passed away yesterday after a four-year battle with cancer. Marlena was a part of the SRO communications team.

Marlena grew up in Scottdale, Pennsylvania, and earned a BA in English at Calvin University.

Marlena enjoyed a successful career in both the editorial and automotive worlds, working for multiple publications before moving into the fuels and lubes industry. She joined SRO at the start of this season at the St. Pete race.

Away from the track, Marlena had a love of family, shoes, and tattoos. She was also a fitness enthusiast and worked as a Zumba instructor. Her wide range of interests included working with the Texas Renaissance Festival.

“I had known Marlena professionally for many years when we recruited her to join the SRO team. We knew that she had both the skills and personality to fit in well in our tightknit community,” said President and CEO of SRO Motorsports America, Greg Gill. “Our prayers and thoughts go out to Marlena’s family and friends.”

Please join us in sending our condolences and prayers to the Solomon family.
