inception racing Heads Stateside for GT World Challenge America Debut

Brendan Iribe and Ollie Millroy team up once again in the Optimum Motorsport prepared McLaren 720S, using the chassis last seen in action at the Silverstone 500. Since then, the GT3 has been completely stripped down and rebuilt ahead of its journey to the United States where the team has secured a temporary workshop.

Due to the tight race calendar, inception racing opted not to compete in the opening round of the GT World Challenge America at Sonoma, but aims – calendar depending – to race in the remaining rounds including first visits to COTA and other classic US circuits ahead of the conclusion of the season at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Brendan and Ollie will continue to race GT3 machinery in the meantime in both the US and Europe, while also testing GTE equipment where possible. Very much a product of the Pure McLaren GT Series, the American racer Brendan continues to go from strength to strength and along with mentor and teammate Ollie, is very much looking forward to the forthcoming challenges.

Bas Leinders, inception racing Team Manager
“Taking on an all-new American championship will be a challenging adventure; the drivers and team are all very excited to run in GTWC America. Of course, we have experience in SRO run events and they were helpful in assisting us to make the transition as smooth as possible. I’m really looking forward to some of the iconic tracks that will be new to myself and to the crew.”
